 The Magnificat sponsored by Verenti

Cycle GB Bikes

New bike brand Verenti has teamed up with one of Britain's best loved sportive events to form a partnership which promises to deliver the ultimate sportive experience next summer.

The Magnificat sponsored by Verenti is due to take place on 13 June 2010 when more than 2,000 riders are expected to take part in the popular event.

The event aims to cater for cyclists of all ages and abilities – from youngsters participating in the fun multi-lap circuit through to competitive cyclists taking on the challenging 126-mile sportive which includes 2,800 metres of climbing.

Organiser Ken Robson said: "We're delighted to be working with Verenti. It's great to have a major sponsor on board who make bikes of such a high pedigree and have a significant interest in the kind of riders who come to our events. Not only does it mean we can give our riders a great event, it also means we can introduce them to the bikes they want to ride.

Verenti's Paul Bolwell said: "We feel the Magnificat is the perfect place to showcase our brand. It caters for young and old, racers and casual cyclists, and takes place in beautiful countryside with three challenging routes."

In 2010, the Magnificat will move from Highclere Castle to its new venue, Newbury Racecourse. This means participants will be able to enjoy first-class facilities including in-house catering, overnight parking, changing rooms and showers plus easier transport links with the race course railway station on the doorstep. Cyclists can choose between the 126-mile Magnificat, which is aimed at competitive, experienced riders; the Route80Cat – an 80-mile route designed for experienced club riders, or the CommuniCat, a 51-mile ride aimed at the first-timer. All routes will be supported with food and drink stations with leading energy drink manufacturer Torq on hand to keep riders fuelled.

The Magnificat isn't just a day for adults, though. The KiddiCat ensures youngsters aren't forgotten. They can take part in the 1.9-mile multi-lap circuit around Newbury Racecourse which is described as "the adult sportive in a small package". Ken Robson added: "That's the beauty of the Magnificat – there's something for everyone. We aim to bring all aspects of cycling together on one day so that all ages and abilities can ride their own challenge and enjoy success together."

Every rider – juniors included – will benefit from chip timing to ensure accurate splits and times.
