The UCI Wiggle Magnificat
This will be our 6th edition of The Magnificat and we are delighted to be UCI accredited , and be partnered with Wiggle again in 2011.  The transfer of our Village HQ from Highclere Castle to Newbury Racecourse was given a firm thumbs-up by our 2010 riders, along with the adjusted routes.

Newbury Racecourse in Berkshire is not only a top sporting venue, home to the Hennessy Gold Cup, but also a first class venue with hospitality to match. The new HQ for the Magnificat is well positioned close to the centre of Newbury and easily accessible by road, rail and bicycle (5 mins) as well as bicycle (5mins) from Newbury mainline station.

Rider Support
The Wiggle Magnificat rides will take you through superb countryside in Berkshire, Wiltshire and the rolling Wolds of Hampshire on three inter-linked routes. This is what you can expect; 
  • Comprehensive and clearly way-marked route.
  • Detailed route cards as backup.
  • Electronic timing with splits; Individual times available immediately at the finish and full results list published here within 24 hours.
  • Six water stations and two main feed Controls with bike support.
  • Rapid response services with GPS incident tracking support.
  • Safety motorcycle escort around the courses.
  • Photos of all riders available for purchase on the web.
  • Gold, Silver and Bronze standards.
 HQ Village Facilities at Nebury Racecourse:
  • Registration, catering, bar & relax areas with plenty of tables and chairs
  • Mobile bike shop van, which will sell basic bike parts and Sportive essentials
  • Torq Nutrition and energy drink stand where products can be sampled prior  purchase and expert nutrition advice provided
  • Wiggle stand where the Verenti bikes can be checked out
  • Event commentator so you know what's happening when
  • Changing rooms, showers & toilet blocks

Pre-Event Information - this will be made available on this website early June and will give advice on bike preparations, what to bring on the day and road-safety notes.  We take rider safety seriously and want all our riders to meet their performance targets, so we ask all our riders to read these pre-event notes carefully - they will set you up for success, and minimise any incidents. All riders MUST wear helmets.
 
Event Registration:
Registration will take place at Newbury Racecourse on Saturday 11th  and Sunday 12th June
  • Saturday 11th June: Centenary Bar from 12noon to 6pm
  • Sunday 12th June: Centenary Bar from 6:15am to 9:15am for the three main rides.
  • KiddiCat registration at Centenary Bar on the Sunday will commence 9:45am after the adult sportive cyclists have left Village HQ
 Riders will be given a registration pack that will include a ride number with inbuilt timing chip, and an information sheet which includes ride safety notes, route sheet and map and emmergency numbers.
 
Start Times:
All riders taking part in the three main rides will depart between 8am and 9.30am when the Start gate will be closed.  Cyclists will depart in groups of 50/60 riders approximately every 2.5 minutes. The provisional start sequence will be:
  • 126mile Magnificat – 8am to 8:40am
  • 80mile Route80cat – 8:40am to 9:10am
  • 51mile Communicat – 9:10am to 9:30am
  • Start gate closes 9:30am
  • KiddiCat and other activities will start from 10:00am onwards
